Lydia Sameta Chilumba is a seasoned lawyer with 23 years of experience, mostly spent in private legal practice and the Financial Sector in Zambia. She has provided legal counsel to reputable local and multinational institutions on management and mitigation of legal risks; legal compliance and corporate governance. She possesses experience in both civil and criminal litigation. Her focus of practice includes commercial and corporate law, banking and finance, structured and project finance law, investment law and pension administration. She joined NAPSA in 2013 as Authority Secretary.
She has served at various senior management levels and provided strategic direction on a number of Boards and Committees including Vision Fund Zambia and the Law Association of Zambia, Legal Practitioners Committee. Her exposure to multi-cultural environments and a wide range of commercial assignments has equipped her with a unique perspective that goes beyond the law. This has given her an appreciation of other legal jurisdictions.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) with Merit from the University of Zambia, a Master of Law Degree in International Economic Law, Warwick University, Masters in Labour Law from Kings College London University, England.
