Go Well Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda

The Board of Trustees, Management and Staff of the National Pension Scheme Authority wish to convey heartfelt condolences to the Kaunda family, the government and the people of Zambia on the passing of His Excellency Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, First Republican President of Zambia.

In 1966 at the peak of workers’ protests against the introduction of the first all-inclusive retirement savings scheme, Dr Kenneth Kaunda exercised wisdom and personally intervened and convinced the protesting workers to embrace the new retirement savings scheme that was going to benefit all Zambians. This led to the creation of the Zambia National Provident Fund whose foundation supported the creation of the current National Pension Scheme from February 2000.

Today we celebrate your enduring sacrifice for mother Zambia and Africa.
